This seems like a massive step backwards, and fiddling with various viewport settings has no meaningful effect. all objects are evenly illuminated, you can't judge exposure (regardless of exposure control settings), sun direction, sky intensity and gradient, shadows, etc. There are many problems, but the immediate one is that nothing shows in the viewport. as a test, replaced all the materials with the newer "physical material." ![]() I started with the converter in Max 2021. They were all set up for mental ray, using the mr sun+sky system, and mental ray materials. haven't been hands on for quite a while now, but have some very large, very complicated legacy scenes that i want to briefly revisit and make some new images. I used to be an avid max user, spending most of my day for years in max, doing architectural modeling and rendering. ![]()
